I have also tried installing Windows Media Players 9 and 10 many times. Whenever I do so, I get the response described in the previous paragraphs. I’m sure my copy of Windows XP is legit; I got it preinstalled on an IBM computer, and I’ve never had any problem installing Windows XP updates, including SP2.

Media Player
The only reference in setup tab under Multimedia is Media Player 1 but the box is un-ticked. This has never worked on my sytem. InterVideo, PowerVideo and Windows Media Player 6.4 works fine. The latest one does not recognize the discs in drives. It recognises them only in Tools > Options > Devices.

Only one will show up in the extension dialog, but both will be on the toolbar. Once you have WMP 6.4 loaded. Just run the openscript command "add extension" with
